Roberta A. (Deleskiewicz) Winters, 75, of Mansfield, formerly of North Falmouth, passed away, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday December 15, 2011. She was the beloved wife of James J. Winters, to whom she was wed for 55 years.
Born in Ravena, New York on March 12, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Natalie (Krzykowski) Deleskiewicz.
Roberta grew up and was educated in Selkirk, New York. A resident of Mansfield for the past 4 years, she had previously made her home in North Falmouth for 15 years. For the past 24 years, Roberta devoted herself to her adoring grandchildren.
In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by her loving daughters; Karen L. Pritchard and her husband Stephen of Scituate, Robin W. Devereux and her husband John of Medfield, and Ginger L. Hastings and her husband Brad of Mansfield. The cherished grandmother of Kaitlyn Pritchard, James, Jefferey, and Caroline Devereux, and B. Zachary, Alexandra, Courtney and Erin Hastings, she is also survived by her sister Dolores Peart of New York.
Funeral services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Monday December 19th at 9:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield. Burial will follow at 11:15 A.M. in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday December 18th from 3-6 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
Due to the limitation of flowers allowed at the National Cemetery, Roberta’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to Vista Care Hospice, 2 Willow St., Southboro, MA 01745.

Marilyn A. Paul, 77 years, of Brockton, died Sunday, February 5, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center after a lengthy illness. A lifelong resident of Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Julian A. and Irene (Finn) Paul and remained a lifelong resident of the city. A 1952 graduate of Brockton High School, Marilyn also received her degree in education from Bridgewater State College in 1956. Her entire career in education was spent with the Brockton School Department as an elementary school teacher. She began at the Sprague School, spent time at the Paine School and retired from Brookfield Elementary School.

In her free time, Marilyn enjoyed watching television, attending theatre and dining out. She also enjoyed music, especially playing the piano and dancing. Marilyn always had a dog in her house and had belonged to the Biscuit Bunch, a group that took dogs to visit nursing homes. Marilyn was a long time communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church.

Marilyn is survived by her niece, Sandra Sullivan and her husband Kevan of Falmouth, and Sebastian, Florida and her close friend Alice Gustin of Brockton. She also leaves five grand nieces and nephews and several great grand nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton, Sunday 2-4pm. A Funeral Procession will gather at the funeral home on Monday at 8am followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 9am. Burial in Melrose Cemetery. James P. Corr III, of East Falmouth, died at Boston Medical Center unexpectedly February 17th, 2012 after a brief illness. He was 44. He is predeceased by his parents, James P. and Mary (McSweeney) Corr of North Falmouth.

Jimmy,fondly known as Corrsie by his friends, was a voracious reader. He enjoyed talking sports, history and current events. He graduated from Falmouth High School where he loved playing hockey. During his senior year, he was assistant captain of the varsity hockey team. He graduated from Westfield State College with a bachelors degree in communications. He was employed at Falmouth Taxi Company.

Jimmy enjoyed lots of friends throughout his life. He will be missed by all who will remember his loving personality and warm smile.

He leaves a sister, Kerry Corr, of North Falmouth, a brother, Dennis Corr and his fiance’, Pamela McDermott of East Sandwich, an aunt, Patricia McSweeney, of Taunton, an uncle, Robert Corr, and numerous cousins from Vineyard Haven. A memorial mass is planned at St. Patrick’s Church, Falmouth, Main Street on Saturday March 24th at 12:30 pm. FALMOUTH – Frances (Lima) Alves, wife of the late John M. Alves, died at the JML Care Center of Falmouth on March 21, 2012.
She was 96.
In 1985, the year of her husband’s death, they had been married fifty years.
Born in Terceira, Azores, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Fonseca) Lima.
She moved to the U.S. with her family at the age of five.
Raised and educated in the Taunton area, Mrs. Alves was employed by Texas Instruments as a coil winder and soldered for over twenty-five years.
She retired in 1975.
A former communicant of Holy Family Church in East Taunton, she moved to the Falmouth area several years ago and attended St. Anthony Church in E. Falmouth.
Mrs. Alves enjoyed sewing, cooking, and traveling.
She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and will be fondly remembered for her good natured, easy going disposition.
She leaves three daughters, Mary E. Areias of W. Falmouth, Lillian F. Parent and her husband Norbert of Hobe Sound, FL, and Adeline J. Osso and her husband John of N. Dighton; five granddaughters, Suzanne Areias of W. Falmouth, Sharon Trahan of Attleboro, Brenda Galego of Swansea, Allyson Pires of E. Taunton, and Sarah Fontes of Taunton; five great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Manuel, John, Frank, Louie, Joseph, and Serafin Lima, Rose Costa and Mary Souza.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Tuesday March 27th at 8:45 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at Holy Family Church, E. Taunton at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Taunton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday, March 26th from 4 to 7 p.m.

John J. “JJ” Lyons, Jr. age 81, of Falmouth and Naples, FL, formerly of Brockton, died peacefully with his sister at his side, June 27, 2012. Born and raised in Brockton, he was the son of the late John J. and Mildred G. Lyons. JJ attended St. Patrick’s School and was a 1948 graduate of Brockton High School. He also attended Stonehill College, Burdette College and Syracuse University. During the Korean War he served with the United States Marine Corps. Prior to becoming the City Clerk of Brockton, he owned and operated an Insurance and Real Estate Company. As Brockton’s City Clerk from 1971-1991, JJ was known for his booming voice which could be heard throughout City Hall. One aspect of his job he enormously enjoyed was performing wedding ceremonies. Following his retirement he enjoyed travel, especially trips to Ireland, where he became an Irish citizen, and also trips to England and Greece.
JJ had been a longtime resident of Brockton until moving to Falmouth in 2004, and enjoyed winters in Naples, FL. He was a member of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery of Boston, a Director of Brotherhood Union for 25 years, and on the Board of Directors for the Salvation Army.
He is survived by his sister Mildred M. Shutt; two nephews Michael and John-Jay Shutt and many cousins. He was the brother of the late Marianne Lyons.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Sunday 2-6pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Monday at 10am for a funeral mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 11am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Beverly A. (Paulis) Butts, 78, of Hudson, died on Thursday, Aug. 23rd at UMASS Memorial Healthcare, University Campus in Worcester. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Charles S. “Sam” Butts of Hudson.

Beverly was born in Brighton, daughter of the late Alfred and Veronica (Mitchell) Paulis. She was raised in Somerville and Cambridge where she attended local schools and was a 1951 graduate of Cambridge High and Latin School. Beverly and her husband Charles have resided in Hudson since 1963 where they raised their family. She was employed as a bookkeeper by the former Kittridge and Sons of Hudson for 10 plus years until her retirement in 1996. Beverly enjoyed gardening in her spare time but especially loved preparing special dishes for large and small family events. Her family will truly miss her cooking talents.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her four children, Kathleen Leavitt of Mariposa, CA, Ellen Howland and her husband Jonathan of Falmouth, MA, John Butts and his wife Tricia of Denver, CO and Robert Butts of Hudson, MA. She is also survived by her brother, Alfred Paulis of Racine, WI; her sister, Patricia Ball of Spring Hill, FL; her 9 grandchildren, Thomas Barnes, Danny, Kaity, Ally and Sammy Butts, David and Daniel Howland, J. Tyler and Kathryn Butts; her great grandson, Hunter Tadlock; many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

A Memorial service and celebration of Beverly’s life will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 29th at 1:00 p.m. in the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. There are no calling hours and burial services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Helen D. Hannus, 97, passed away Monday, October 22, 2012, at Notre Dame Long Term Care Center. She was born in Worcester, the youngest of 11 children, to Adrian and Matilda (Carlson) Hannus. Helen was a graduate of Commerce High School and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Worcester. She retired from the Automobile Legal Association as a secretary and office manager after 32 years of service. Helen lived in Falmouth before relocating back to Worcester. While in Falmouth, she was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. She leaves four nieces and five nephews and many grandnieces and grandnephews. Helen was more than just a great aunt, she was a surrogate grandmother. The family extends their thanks to the staff at Notre Dame Long Term Care Center for the compassionate care they provided to Helen. Funeral services under the direction of Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, will be held in the Chapel of Trinity Lutheran Church on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 10 a.m. A calling period will be held in the church prior to the service from 9:30-10 a.m. Burial will follow in All Faiths Cemetery. Sullivan, Lucien M. 86, of Plymouth formerly of Brockton, Falmouth and Wareham, died at home on October 29. Husband of Zinaida (Afanasiw) Sullivan of Plymouth. He leaves his sons Robert and his wife Bonnie Sullivan of Plymouth and Paul and his wife Patricia Sullivan of Topsham, ME. He also leaves his son in law Vincent Long of Plymouth, 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, father of the late Susan M. Long and William L. Kinter. Lucien was born in Boston and graduated from Roslindale High School and attended Wentworth Institute. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp, 4th Division, during WWII in the South Pacific and fought at the Battle of Iwo Jima. Lucien worked at the Watertown Arsenal and as the owner of Lucien Sullivan Motors Inc. in Whitman for 41 years. He was an avid Red Sox fan and had a passion for hunting in the fall in the Pittsburgh, NH area. He also liked to collect baseball cards, sports memorabilia and enjoyed his summers in Falmouth. Visiting hours will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home 619 State Road (Rte 3A) Plymouth (Manomet) on Friday November 2 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Mary W. (Reardon) Fay died in her beloved home on November 22, 2012 at the age of 92, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Robert W. Fay. Mary is survived by her children John and his wife Kathleen of Wrentham, Kathleen Slye and Robert Bunar of Dennis, and Maureen Buckley and her husband Robert of North Falmouth. In addition, Mary leaves three grandchildren, Tracy Holland of Raynham, Timothy Buckley of East Haven Ct. and Brianna Buckley of White Plains, NY., two great grandchildren, James and Julia Holland, and her loving sister, Katherine Bird of West Bridgewater. Mary leaves several nieces and nephews who were close to her heart and countless dear friends. Mary was born and raised in Brockton a daughter of the late John and Agnes (Robinson) Reardon and remained a lifelong resident of the city. A 1939 graduate of Brockton High School, Mary worked at Quinn Freight Lines/Maislin Trucking as an executive secretary for a number of years. She was later employed by the Brockton Housing Authority until she retired at the age of 75. She was an active communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church for many years. She was a member of Twentieth Century Junior and Senior Catholic Club, the Brockton Women’s Club, St. Edward’s Mother’s Club, the Charity Guild and Brockton High Class of 1939 Reunion Committee. She had a great love for Cape Cod and spent many happy hours with friends and family at Old Silver Beach. Mary will always be remembered for her sense of style, not only in her attire but also in her demeanor. Her loving heart and kindness to others was the hallmark of her life. Henry A. Patturelli, 67 of East Falmouth, formerly of Medford, died Friday in the Kindred Hospital in Peabody following a lengthy illness Born in Medford, son of the late Henry A. and Edith (Vitiello) Patturelli. He was educated in Somerville and is a graduate of Somerville Trade High School, class of 1963. Mr. Patturelli had been a Medford resident until 1994. He was employed for many years by New England Telephone where he started at the bottom with customer service, then as a lineman and rose to the position of management. Mr. Patturelli was fond of horses. He bred and raised Arabian Horses on his farm, the former Oasis Farm of Pittsfield NH. He also enjoyed flying remote control airplanes, collecting and repairing automobiles. He had been a member of the U.S. Army Reserve since 1960. He is survived by his wife Diane (McInnis) Patturelli, a son Paul Patturelli of Peabody and his wife Danielle, two daughters: Kristen Gavin of Falmouth and her husband Matthew and Karen Gately-Jarvis of London UK. Beloved grandfather of Mark and Connie Patturelli of Peabody, Bridget, Madeline and Grace Gavin of Falmouth, Nicholas Gately of Medford, Chloe and Jack Jarvis of London UK; a sister: Constance Casali of Medford and her husband John. Dennis E. Cornell, a resident of Falmouth, Massachusetts formerly of Warwick, Rhode Island passed away after a long illness in the New England Sinai Hospital & Rehabilitation Center in Stoughton on Sunday February 3, 2013. He was 63 years old and the beloved husband of Clare A. ( Stroup ) Cornell.

Born March 27, 1949 in Providence, Rhode Island Mr. Cornell was a son to the late James and Alice C. (Hughes) Cornell. He was employed in the Health Services Field as a counselor by Habit Opco for over 10 years.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his 2 step-sons, his brother Kevin Cornell of Michigan and 4 grandchildren.

Evana C. (Anderson) Maggiore of Winchester, Falmouth and Fort Lauderdale, passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at age 61, after a long battle with ovarian cancer.

Evana was the beloved wife of Paul J. Maggiore. She was the cherished mother of Jacquelyn Maggiore, Matthew Maggiore and his wife Jamie, and Andrew Maggiore. Evana was the devoted sister of Astrid Cahill and the late Robert Anderson. She was the loving daughter-in-law of Josephine (Contrino) Maggiore and the late Benedict Maggiore and the caring sister-in-law of Janet Lang and Arlene Weeks and her husband Douglas.

A native of Roslindale, Evana was a professional image consultant who expanded her business to include feng shui and was the very first individual to connect the five elements of feng shui to fashion and personal style. She was an esteemed lecturer and inspiring teacher, bringing her art of Fashion Feng Shui to people around the world. In 2001, Evana established the Love Yourself Project at Rosie’s Place, an organization that was always close to her generous heart.

She was a certified image professional, a charter member and past vice-president of the Association of Image Consultants International, as well as a member of the Fashion Group International and the International Feng Shui Guild.

Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (Rte. 28) Stoneham, Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 9:30 am, followed by a funeral service celebrating Evana’s eternal life in The Parish of the Epiphany, 70 Church St., Winchester, at 11 am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the family on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 from 3-8 pm in the funeral home. Parking attendants and handicapped elevator are available. Interment at Newton Cemetery, Newton.

TAUNTON – Mariana (Silva) Vieira, wife of Antonio Vieira of Taunton, died at Morton Hospital & Medical Center on March 31, 2013. She was 64. Born, raised and educated in Terceira, Azores, she was the daughter of Maria C. (Costa) Silva of Taunton, and the late Raul Silva. Mrs. Vieira left the Azores in 1969 and settled in Falmouth. A Taunton resident since 1974, she worked in area factories, retiring from Esterline Technologies Corporation several years ago. She was a communicant of St. Nicholas of Myra Church, and member of the Holy Ghost Society of East Taunton. In addition to her husband and mother, Mrs. Vieira leaves a daughter, Teresa Janeiro and her husband Christopher of Taunton; two brothers, Zeferino and Abel L. Silva, both of Taunton; two grandchildren, Megan and Sean Freitas, both of Taunton; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Jose Lourenco. Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Thursday, April 4th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Nicholas of Myra Church, North Dighton at 10 a.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Ernesto V. Zezze died peacefully at home on Saturday evening in the company of his loving family. He was 83. Ernesto was born and raised in Pietradifusi, Avellino, Italy, the son of the late Luigi and Maria Carmela Zezze. He came to the United States with his family in 1966 and settled in Somerville. He worked for many years with the painters union Local 35. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed good times with his many friends. The beloved husband of Maria (Colarusso) Zezze, Erneato was a devoted father to Luigi “Gino” Zezze and his wife Carmela of Falmouth, Joseph Zezze and his wife Lisa of Peabody, Maria Pierotti and her husband Joseph of Everett. He leaves his loving grandchildren: Ernest, Joseph, Henry, Nicholas, Matthew, Olivia and Aliana and was a dear brother to Vincenzo, Elio, Assuntina the late Emilio and Genovino. His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Friday April 5th at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4 – 8 PM. Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden.
